24th Annual Brandywine River Cleanup
Get dirty with the Young Friends of the Brandywine at the 24th Annual Brandywine River Cleanup on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Over the years, the Young Friends have removed more than 30 tons of trash from the banks of the Brandywine between Lenape and the Delaware state line including picnic tables, hundreds of tires, lawn chairs, countless cans and even a huge stuffed purple gorilla. Help us fill up another dumpster this year.
Volunteers are advised to wear hats, long pants, heavy shoes or boots, and sunscreen. We will provide water but suggest volunteers bring a reusable water bottle to cut down on waste. Gloves and trash bags will also be provided.
Stay after the cleanup for a lunch provided by the Young Friends. Please bring your own beach chair to relax and socialize after a morning of hard work.
For questions about volunteering, please contact Kathy Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org or 610.388.8315. Volunteers are asked to come to the Brandywine Conservancy building located in front of the Brandywine River Museum of Art at 9 a.m. to register.
This event is acceptable for children over the age of five.
