Protecting land from development is just the beginning.
We work to ensure that conserved lands — both our own preserves and privately owned land subject to conservation easements — are maintained in ways that sustain natural resources and wildlife populations, and protect the quality of our rivers and streams.
- We offer stewardship advice to landowners whose property is subject to a conservation easement, providing consultations on best management practices, invasive plant control, or ecological restoration.
- We partner with our landowners in protecting their conserved land by visiting each property at least annually and reviewing any proposed construction or subdivision plans.
- We write and implement comprehensive property management plans that guide the protection of sensitive natural and cultural features.
