Brandywine River Museum of Art to offer $2 off general adult admission for visitors donating to 'BIG Give' event on October 21
Chadds Ford, PA, October 18, 2017 — In partnership with PECO, the Brandywine River Museum of Art will host a local drop-off station for the Cradles to Crayons’ “BIG Give” event on Saturday, October 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The BIG Give is a community powered effort hosted by Cradles to Crayons to collect vitally needed warm winter essentials for over 13,000 low-income and homeless children in the Greater Philadelphia region. Participating visitors who donate winter clothes and accessories to Brandywine’s drop-off station will also receive $2 off general adult admission.
Brandywine visitors are encouraged to drop off new and gently used winter essentials for children including coats, hats, boots, cozy pajamas, gloves, scarves, and sweaters. Donations will support Cradles to Crayons’ efforts to provide children from birth to age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essentials they need to thrive. Cradles to Crayons supplies all collected items free of charge to local children by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need. The Brandywine River Museum of Art features an outstanding collection of American art housed in a 19th-century mill building with a dramatic steel and glass addition overlooking the banks of the Brandywine. The Museum is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day), and is located on Route 1 in Chadds Ford, PA. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors ages 65 and over, $6 for students and children ages 6 and up; free for children 5 and younger and Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art members. Guided tours of the Andrew Wyeth Studio, N.C. Wyeth House & Studio, and the Kuerner Farm, are available daily for an additional fee from April 1 through November 19; advance reservations are recommended.
