Free admission for veterans on November 11 at the Brandywine River Museum of Art

MEDIA ADVISORY

WHAT:

In honor of Veterans Day, the Brandywine River Museum of Art will offer veterans free Museum admission and 20% off purchases in the Millstone Café on November 11.  The Museum also offers free admission to active-duty military personnel every day of the year.

Throughout the day, veterans and their families can enjoy the Museum’s newest exhibition, Dylan Gauthier: highwatermarks. This immersive video and audio installation presents a sixty foot long, floor-to-ceiling visual panorama on the course of Brandywine River and its surrounding communities. On view now through January 7, 2018, the exhibition is the culminating project of the Museum’s first artist-in-residence, Dylan Gauthier, and was shot entirely on location in the Brandywine Watershed and surrounding region. It narrates the path of the Brandywine River through all four seasons and documents the local communities through which it flows.

Tours of the Museum’s historic properties and artist studios will also be available for bookings before they close for the season on November 19. Tickets are $8 each for tours of the N. C. Wyeth House and Studio and the Andrew Wyeth Studio; $5 each for Kuerner Farm tours; and free for Brandywine members. Tour pricing is in addition to regular Museum admission; advance reservations are recommended.
