The Brandywine is currently using timed ticketing to ensure the safety, security and quality of the visitor experience.

What is a timed ticket?

The timed ticket is admission for a self-guided visit to the Museum. Tickets are timed at 30-minute intervals and each timed ticket has a unique barcode that can only be used once.

To improve your chances of receiving a ticket, be prepared with multiple dates and times that will work for your schedule. We recommend setting aside at least 1.5 hours to self-tour the Museum.

How do I obtain a timed ticket?

We recommend obtaining your ticket online by clicking here. You can also obtain a ticket by calling our Visitor Services team at 610.388.8399 (please be aware that there may be wait times).

Walk-up entry is also offered at the Museum, but we cannot always guarantee that tickets will be available. Because of this, we recommend you schedule your timed admission ticket before your arrival.

Do children require a timed ticket?

Even though admission for children five and under is free, they still require a timed ticket. Timed tickets help us provide a safe indoor experience and maintain social distancing guidelines.

I have AAA/am a veteran/active-duty military/etc. How do I obtain my discount on admission?

If you believe you should be receiving a discount on your timed admission ticket, please call our Visitor Services team at 610.388.8399. They will assist you on getting a discounted timed admission ticket. You will have to show proof of the method of discount upon arrival.

How will I receive my timed ticket?

If you have bought your ticket online, you should receive a confirmation email and a separate email containing your ticket. Please be sure to check your junk/spam email folder in case these emails are delivered there.

If you bought your ticket over the phone, your ticket(s) will be emailed to you (you will NOT receive a confirmation email, just a ticketing email). If you do not receive your tickets via email, upon arrival please let the Visitor Services team know that you purchased your ticket over the phone and we will be able to pull your reservation. 

How many times can a timed ticket be used?

Each timed ticket has a unique barcode that can only be used once.

If we arrive after our scheduled entry time, can we still enter the Museum?

Yes, we understand that things do not always go as planned. While we ask that you do your best to arrive at the Museum by the time of your ticket, we allow ticket holders to enter at any time after the time stated on their ticket for the day. The time on your ticket helps our Visitor Services and Security teams to maintain a safe hourly visitor count. If the Museum is at capacity, ticket holders—regardless of the time on their pass—may be asked to wait until the Museum has room to accommodate new visitors.

If I’m a Brandywine member, have complimentary admission pass, or if I'm a member of the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM)—do I still need timed tickets to enter the Museum?

Yes. To safely accommodate everyone during our peak holiday season, all guests to the Museum will be required to reserve timed tickets beginning October 31, 2020 through January 10, 2021, including Brandywine Members, guests with complimentary or pre-paid passes, and members of NARM. Current Members can reserve a free admission ticket by clicking the Purchase Tickets button and using the “Member” ticket option. Your registration information should match the information you provided at the time of your membership purchase or renewal. 

If you fall into one of the categories listed below or if you are having technical difficulties,  please call our Visitor Services Team at 610.388.8399 to reserve your tickets: 

  • If you are a  Member bringing guests  and would like to use your  guest passes 
  • If you have a valid  complementary  or  pre-paid pass 
  • If you are a member of  NARM, AAA, AAM, or any other reciprocal membership 
  • If you are an  ACCESS cardholder 
  • If you are a  Bank of America cardholder  and would like to participate in the  Museums on Us  program, which offers free general admission during the  first full weekend of every month 
  • If you have any other applicable affiliation that receives admission discounts to the museum
