ARTZ-Connect at Brandywine

ARTZ-Connect at Brandywine

This popular online program welcomes a small group of participants with dementia and their care partners to view and discuss art on Zoom in a supportive setting.

ARTZ-Connect at Brandywine features:

  • small-group conversations inspired by art
  • a safe space in which people with dementia, their families and friends can come together, free from judgment and supported in being fully themselves
  • a comfortable space in which imaginations soar and a sense of community is established through mutual trust and respect
  • a place where “communication” and “conversation” take place in all sorts of ways, from smiling eyes to evocative words to eloquent gestures to joyous laughter

During ARTZ-Connect at Brandywine, a group of 6–8 people living with dementia and their care partners will view and discuss two to three works of art from the Brandywine's collection under the guidance of a warm, welcoming and highly trained facilitator. Through sharing ideas or simply listening to others, participants will have a meaningful, invigorating and joyful encounter.

Participation is free with advance registration, but we ask that you register as early as possible. We keep our programs small and intimate in scale so that everyone feels comfortable and at ease. Registrations are first-come, first-served.
