Portrait Watercolor Workshop with Vessna Scheff

Artists of all skill levels are invited to join Vessna Scheff for a day exploring the medium of watercolor. This workshop will build comfortability in drawing and painting watercolors through exploratory exercises, along with revealing tools and techniques for refining portrait work. The day will include a short tour of the special exhibition Jerrell Gibbs: No Solace in the Shade and a lunch break.

Plants Out of Place: Communicating Effectively About Invasive Species

During this online webinar, Dr. Mason Heberling will discuss a new project he initiated at Carnegie Museum of Natural History focused on increasing public awareness of invasive plants. Dr. Heberling will share outcomes and some lessons learned in connection to the changing scientific perspectives on the categorization and perceived threats of invasive plants and highlight the need for updated, inclusive communication strategies.
