Farmland Preservation & Agricultural Best Management Practices

Farmland Preservation & Agricultural Best Management Practices

We protect farmland from development while helping farmers implement practices that bolster environmental and economic viability.

We work with local, county, and state governments, private foundations, and individual landowners to:

  • preserve agricultural lands
  • prepare farm conservation plans
  • and help farmers implement best management practices.

Agricultural best management practices help keep valuable soils in place, reduce the need for chemical fertilizers and minimize water-polluting runoff, ultimately improving sustainability and profitability of the farm operation.

See Land Conservation and Conservation Easements for additional information. Contact John Goodall to learn more about preserving farmland and conservation planning.
