REPORTS TO: Security Manager
BASIC FUNCTION: Security officers are responsible for performing routine security procedures and other duties at the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. They also provide emergency services when required and consider public safety matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Protects the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art against loss or damage to all assets.
2. Provides a safe environment for staff and visitors on Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art properties.
3. Perform regular interior and exterior patrols of specified campus properties
4. Follows all security procedures assigned.
5. Responsible for wearing a uniform when the Museum is open to the public.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to interact in a professional manner with the public, and other employees regarding issues of safety, security, maintenance, deliveries, etc.
2. Ability to perform first aid and CPR. Training will be provided.
3. Ability to work at some special events (normally between 5–9 p.m.) or occasionally when the museum is open to the public (normally between 9 a.m.–4:40 p.m.).
4. Ability to undergo a background investigation with no adverse record.
5. Ability to stand on the hard floor for periods of time.
6. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Starting Salary: $14.50 per hour. 5% additional pay for third shift (midnight–8:00 a.m.)
