Plein Air Painting Workshop with Fran Atkinson

Plein Air Painting Workshop with Fran Atkinson

Painters of all skill levels are invited to join artist Fran Atkinson for a three-day immersion into plein air painting along the Brandywine. The workshop will include discussions about composition, color and value; painting demonstrations; gallery visits; and extended painting sessions on the Museum campus or from the expansive windows in the Museum atrium. Artists may work in oil, watercolor, gouache, pastel or acrylic. This class is ideal in speed and content for both beginners and more seasoned artists. Fran will host a Zoom lecture on Monday, June 19th before the workshop starts to talk about her artistic practice, go over materials, and answer any questions you may have.

Fran Atkinson has a BFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art. She paints and exhibits locally and is a docent at Brandywine Museum of Art. She previously taught art in public schools and worked in creative marketing.
