Christmas Bird Count at Penguin Court

Christmas Bird Count at Penguin Court

Join Birders, Tom and Janet Kuehl, and Penguin Court Program Manager, Melissa Reckner, for a bird walk at Penguin Court. We'll be recording the species and number of each bird observed for the National Audubon Society's Christmas Bird Count. Penguin Court falls within the Rector "circle" where data will be compiled by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History's Powdermill Nature Preserve. Participants should expect to walk about 1-1.5 miles on gravel roads and grassy lawns, which could be coated in snow or ice. We'll be outside the whole time, so dress for the weather! You are encouraged to bring a pair of binoculars with you, although we'll have several for you to borrow.

PLEASE NOTE: Penguin Court Preserve is located in Western Pennsylvania. The address is 104 California Ave, Laughlintown, PA. Directions and access instructions will be provided up registration.
