Make your own animal sculptures using the supplies you have in your own pantry!

Gather Your Supplies:
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
½ cup warm water
Mixing bowl
Spoon
Baking tray
Cooling rack
Spatula
Optional supplies:
Paint
Paintbrush

Step 1:
Mix together the dry ingredients.

Step 2:
Add water to dry ingredients and mix and knead until dough forms.
Pro tip: If the dough is too crumbly, add warm water a little at a time. If the dough sticks to your hands, add more flour.

Step 3:
Dust your creating surface with flour.

Step 4:
Sculpt your animals using the dough. Get creative!

Step 5:
Carefully use a spatula to lift your creations onto a baking sheet. Bake for 1.5 to 3 hours at 200 degrees. (Check your dough creations after 1.5 hours and add on time in 30-minute increments as needed. The clay will harden in the air so it does not need to be completely baked through).

Step 6:
Let your salt dough creations cool on a cooling rack.

Once completely cool and hardened, you can paint your creations (if desired).
