This virtual presentation aims to highlight the often-overlooked role of flies in our ecosystem, shedding light on their vital contributions to environmental balance, pollination, decomposition, and food webs. Andrea Kautz, an entomologist at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s Powdermill Nature Reserve, will provide an overview of flies, their life cycle, and their ecological importance, helping to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of their significance in maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem health.
